Utilizing Both Traditional and 'Prompt Therapy'
Every individual deserves the ability to communicate. With the right treatment, your child will gain the skills needed to communicate.
PROMPT Therapy is appropriate for a wide range of individuals with communication disorders. I am a Certified PROMPT Therapist.
Children with CAS have difficulty with planning and coordinating muscle movements necessary to produce sounds, syllables, and words.
I can help with many of the challenges your child may face. I offer evaluations and treatment for a variety of developmental delays including apraxia, autism, phonological and articulation disorders, and auditory processing issues. Your child will receive treatment that follows the latest approaches including PROMPT Therapy.
Speech and Language services are provided in the home or school. I offer consultations and evaluations and build speech language skills through various programs and techniques, homework activities and family education. Intervention Plans are designed to meet the individual needs of the child incorporating the child's learning styles, fine and gross motor abilities, sensory needs, and cognitive abilities.
My clinical practice provides speech and language services to toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. My services include speech and language consultations, evaluation, and therapy. I believe in a team approach to therapy and encourage collaboration with parents, teachers, and other therapists. This provides the most successful environment for the child. I am committed to providing the highest standard of service to children and their families.
All children long to communicate. This may be difficult for those who struggle with speech and language. My goal is to facilitate successful communication to help each individual meet their therapy goals and ultimate goals of effective communication.

Ann is a passionate and intuitive therapist. As a teacher and a parent of a high energy, distractible and sometimes oppositional toddler, I can confidently say that she knew how to approach therapy successfully even on the worst of my daughters days. Her PROMPT technique was very successful with our 3 year old. Within two months of working with our daughter she went from 15 words to speaking sentences. She is very knowledgeable, thorough with her notes, and progressive with goal setting. She has spoke up on our behalf to the school district and has gone above and beyond to make sure our daughter received the services she needed despite that ending up being in a school setting and not under her own care. Not to mention the outside service recommendations she has made: looking into an ENT which revealed our daughters palate hypotonia issues and a Brooklyn specialist that revealed immunity and digestive issues, have all had a big impact on our daughters health, ability to communicate, and overall happiness. Our son was 2 1/2 when we started with Ann. From the initial evaluation we knew we wanted to move forward with her. She was very thorough and even at that first meeting we could see that she was going to make a significant impact on his speech. Our son is 4 year old and he has made great strides in all his areas of deficiency. Speech therapy with Ann has not only helped him and his communication with us but being able to sit in during the sessions has taught us how to communicate with him and how we should apply the methods at home to enable our son to communicate better. ANN creates a very fun and relaxed environment, but is still able to command the room with a no nonsense approach. Her skills allow her to use any mood or behavior the child is exhibiting for learning and LANGUAGEā¦
Our son, Lucas, received speech services through Early Intervention at 19 months old. Regrettably, after six months of services, he had not made any progress, and everyone in our household was becoming increasingly frustrated. Our EI case manager recommended Ann, since she was certified in PROMPT therapy, a rarity amongst EI speech therapists. Six months after working with Ann, Lucas began communicating with sounds and some words. I'll never forget the first time I heard him shout out, "Mommy!" I thought I'd never let him out of my arms. Although Lucas was making progress, it was not enough to close the achievement gap. In our transition to CPSE, Ann helped us advocate for the appropriate services, as she was the first person to accurately diagnose him with apraxia. Since receiving the appropriate services he needs, Lucas has thrived. He is able to communicate his thoughts, desires and needs. Most importantly, he is a happy, loving boy. We will always be forever grateful for Ann in helping Lucas find his voice. Robert & Tania Z.
